Numbers and Logic

* First we must all agree that the devil is more powerful than the concept of luck. As long as we agree on that then the following must be true:

* The number 13 is generally looked at as an unlucky number. Bad luck is feared and avoided. The devil is also feared and avoided. The devils number, as everyone knows, is 666. Therefore we must conclude that 13 is the number 666's bitch.

Assuming (A) :::
If p(A) = r
and
q(A) = r
Then qr(A) > pr(A)

It makes perfect sense to me. Please ignore the missing variables and lack of supporting evidence... it helps the conclusions validty if we ignore certain factors. Like Bush when he said "We should attack Iraq".
Interesting... George W. Bush is mentioned in the same post as the devil. Coincidence I'm sure.

I'm sorry that I didnt think as long about this as you did. But just to continue the shenanigans.... how can you prove the devil influences people and events? And what evidence do you have that the devil (or god) even exsists beyond being a means of expressing a part of our own philosophy or belief? AND .. ifluck can be attatched to anything.... look at any event and you can say that was lucky or unlucky that that happened... then the devils influence on these events would be because the devil influences all events ( good luck and bad luck events)... therefore the devil would be more powerful than luck because the concept of luck would operate within the devils influence not because of it...... Anyway ... thanks for discussing the absurd with me

In any case, 666 is probably NOT the Devil's number, thus one of your fundamental premises is probably crapola. It was essentially a code number used by one of the apostles to refer to the Emperor Nero, who was a big fan of homosexual and heterosexual sodomy and not a big fan of Christians. That is the position of the Catholic Church. Frankly, if Catholics don't even believe it (and they tend to cling to a lot of odd notions well past their time) I don't see why anybody else believes it.

It is kind of creepy to have a Mark of the Beast though, so maybe it is just the human desire to be creeped out mixed with our general fear, aversion, and confusion about numbers (e.g. why most people hate math).

As for the notion of only believing in things you can "prove" that is an entire new ballpark. How can you "prove" that anything is "proven?" What if all our "understanding" of the world is based purely on faulty, subjective senses and thus this so-called logical reasoning is a way of drawing relationships between a series of notions about the world that surrounds us that takes in only 50% of the info. For example, you can't prove that we aren't just computer programs programmed to think we are human beings with free will, etc. etc..

In other words, belief in God is just as irrational as non-belief in God. I could explain more, to prevent hole-poking in what I've said, but I really don't care enough.

Damn!!! this post has gotten alot of attention.... Rest assured that if it was meant as a serious argument then there would have been NO fault in the argument ... I would have reworked some of the premis' and flawlessly constructed the theory... HAHA! But if you would like a rebutle I'd gladly drive a truck through the holes in your argument .... if you want to continue these Shazanigans haha!
